KORAMAZ VALLEY

Koramaz Valley is a geological formation created by an earthquake fault, stretching approximately 12 kilometers from east to west in a winding path. Within the valley, there are 7 settlements that still remain inhabited today. These settlements, listed from east to west, are: Büyük Bürüngüz, Subaşı, Küçük Bürüngüz, Ağırnas, Turan, Vekse, and Bağpınar.
These villages share a tangible and intangible cultural heritage that dates back thousands of years, including unique traditions in food, entertainment, and games. The elevation at the eastern end of the valley is 1500 meters, while it drops to 1165 meters at the western end. This difference in elevation allows the Koramaz Stream to flow easily through the valley floor.
Walking through the narrow streets of the settlements in Koramaz Valley feels like traveling to another world. If you’re curious about how people lived in ancient times, this is definitely a place you should visit.
